Trust Restaurant Group is expanding its portfolio with its first venture into North County, bringing its retro steakhouse Rare Society to Solana Beach. Part of South Cedros Avenue’s Art District, the new restaurant is currently scheduled to open by April/May 2021 and intends to offer daily lunch and dinner.
Last fall, the local hospitality group introduced Rare Society to University Heights, where chef/owner Brad Wise’s menu celebrated steakhouse classics, from oysters Rockefeller to beef tartare, and centered around a range of wood-fired meats. For the Solana Beach outpost, Wise will reportedly take the dishes in a more deluxe, elevated direction.
Another collaboration with GTC Design (Fort Oak), the North County restaurant spans a 2,800-square-foot interior dining room and bar area, but will also have patio seating and an outdoor bar. Building on the original’s vintage Vegas vibe, the design is taking cues from striking burlesque-era marquees.
Back on Park Boulevard, Rare Society is planning to return from a temporary hiatus on November 28, with the sidewalk area in front of the Park Boulevard restaurant transformed into a new outdoor dining room. With reservations now available from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Monday to start, the eatery will be offering specially-priced meals to the local restaurant industry on Monday nights.
